What’s in the Workshop

There’s always at least one project on the go in the workshop. Something for a client, maybe. Something for the house. Or changes and additions to the workshop itself. I’ve got a pile of ‘nice’ offcuts that I turn to for inspiration when I’m looking for something to make or a skill to practise. Learning to carve lettering into wood either with a router or by hand with the chisels is next on my list.

Toilet Roll Cloud

This cloud-shaped toilet roll shelf has to be the most expensive toilet roll storage solution in the kingdom. Fashioned from some offcuts of ply, but so far shaped with a new-purchase band saw, some new clamps, and a bobbin sander on the way to smooth out those lovely curves. Well, my wife’s the client on this one, and if the only way to deliver what she wants is to buy the tools I need to do it …
