Scaffold Board Shelves
The rugged industrial look is always popular. All this client required was a pair of shelves cut from a scaffold plank to fit an alcove that wasn’t as square as it looked.
Hooks and Hangers
I like these cast iron hooks, which really complement the ironmongery on the door and the simple routed edge finishes off a piece of oak that might otherwise have been discarded as too small to be of any use. The pair of hooks were carefully positioned to cover the fixing screws behind, but this does leave room for a second lead.
Dog Shelf
I really like the rugged industrial feel of these scaffold poles against the chunky oak boards of the shelves, built to give the dog plenty of headroom on her dog shelf, of course.
Skirting and Architrave
Something as simple as skirting or architrave really tests the skills. First the boards are ripped down to the correct width on the circular saw. Next they’re profiled using a custom sled on the planer. Edge moulding is created with the router. Then the final step is to chop them to length and to the correct angle on the mitre saw.
