When our local pub, The Pear Tree, bought some glamping pods, they needed some outdoor decking space adding. So together with Danny @WiltshireWoodman and villager Ian we set to. Post holes were dug with an auger that took delight in binding and throwing us across the site. 4” posts were framed with 6” x 2” and the deck is Siberian Larch that should weather down to a grey to match the already aged pods. The balustrade poles are Ash and Hazel foraged from the local Scout camp site.
This is a wonderful location at the back of the existing garden with a lovely outlook across the fields. To maximise the outlook, each handrail has a double-width “gin table” built in to help savour the view. What’s not to like?
